Quarterback JT Daniels could miss No. 2 Georgia’s game against UAB with an injury to his midsection, according to Dawgs 247. Daniels is considered day-to-day, but was limited in practice on Tuesday. If Daniels can’t play, backup Carson Beck – the No. 250 recruit in the Class of 2020, per 247Sports Composite – is expected to start. However, Daniels has not been ruled out after leading Georgia to a 10-3 win over No. 3 Clemson in Week 1.

Beck threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns in Georgia’s spring game to pass 2020 starter Stetson Bennett IV on the depth chart. The Bulldogs also have 5-star freshman Brock Vandagriff on the roster, though he has been exclusively working with the scout team.

The junior’s injury is just the latest for a Georgia offense that came into the season shorthanded. Wide receivers Dominick Blaylock and Kearis Jackson missed Clemson game, but could be back against UAB. Tight end Darnell Washington is doubtful as he recovers from foot surgery.

Daniels is undefeated in five starts with the Bulldogs dating back to last season when he appeared in the final four games after finally being cleared from an ACL injury he suffered while at USC. He completed 22-of-30 passes for 135 yards and an interception in a defensive battle against Clemson that did not feature an offensive touchdown.

UAB has won two of the last three Conference USA championships, the most recent coming in 2020 after a 6-3 campaign. The Blazers beat Jacksonville State 31-0 to open the season.
