We are on the board. In the first quarter of the NFL‘s regular-season opener between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys, Tom Brady connected with Chris Godwin on a 5-yard touchdown, giving us our first score of 2021. Specifically, the touchdown came at the Cowboys 5-yard line and Brady faked the handoff to Leonard Fournette before being able to deliver a strike to Godwin over the middle of the field.
This capped off a nine-play, 94-yard scoring drive for the Buccaneers on their second possession of the game. Their first drive of the night resulted in a three-and-out, so it appears like the Super Bowl champions needed only a brief moment to shake off the new year jitters
For Brady, it didn’t take him long to make some NFL history. With the start tonight, the 44-year-old is now the oldest non-kicker to ever start a Week 1 game. This was also Brady’s 300th regular-season start, a feat that no player has reached before.
