Boise State vs. UTEP: How to watch, schedule, live stream info, game time, TV channel

Through 2 Quarters

After a tough loss on the road their last time out, the Boise State Broncos look much better today on their home turf. They are way out in front at halftime with a 41-13 lead over the UTEP Miners. Boise State already has more points in this matchup than they finished with last Thursday.

The Broncos have been relying on WR Khalil Shakir, who has caught six passes for 161 yards, and QB Hank Bachmeier, who has passed for one TD and 275 yards on 17 attempts. Bachmeier’s 61-yard touchdown toss to WR Stefan Cobbs in the second quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the night.

The Boise State defense has been merciless to QB Gavin Hardison and currently has three sacks accrued. Boise State might just be able to coast to victory if they can keep up that ball pressure

What to Know

The UTEP Miners will square off against the Boise State Broncos at 9:30 p.m. ET Friday at Albertsons Stadium. The Miners will be strutting in after a win while Boise State will be stumbling in from a loss.

UTEP was hampered by 105 penalty yards against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats last week, but luckily for them that wasn’t the tale of the game. UTEP beat Bethune-Cookman 38-28. UTEP can attribute much of their success to RB Ronald Awatt, who rushed for one TD and 136 yards on 19 carries.

Meanwhile, the Broncos didn’t finish too far behind, but the team still lost 36-31 to the UCF Knights last Thursday. Boise State was up 14 to nothing at the end of the first quarter but couldn’t hold on to the lead. A silver lining for them was the play of WR Khalil Shakir, who caught five passes for two TDs and 95 yards.

Boise State’s defeat took them down to 0-1 while UTEP’s victory pulled them up to 2-0. A win for Boise State would reverse both their bad luck and UTEP’s good luck. We’ll see if Boise State manages to pull off that tough task or if UTEP keeps their momentum going instead.
