What to Know
The Murray State Racers are staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Bowling Green Falcons at 5 p.m. ET Sept. 18 at Doyt L. Perry Stadium.
It was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, but MSU was not quite the Cincinnati Bearcats’ equal in the second half when they met last week. The Racers were dealt a punishing 42-7 loss at the hands of Cincinnati. This contest was a close 7-7 at the break, but unfortunately for MSU it sure didn’t stay that way. QB Preston Rice had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he threw three interceptions with only 5.14 yards per passing attempt.
Meanwhile, Bowling Green was close but no cigar last week as they fell 22-19 to the South Alabama Jaguars.
Both teams will surely be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the win column after losses last week. Giving up four turnovers, MSU had had trouble holding onto the ball. We’ll see if the Falcons can exploit that vulnerability.
