The Champions League  (on Paramount+) group stage starts on Tuesday, and a new title contender has emerged in Manchester United as the Red Devils travel to Switzerland to take on Young Boys. With Cristiano Ronaldo now leading the attack, United have put all of Europe on alert after winning their first game with Ronaldo back against Newcastle on Saturday, 4-1. In their way is a talented Young Boys side and a lively fan base eager to pull off the upset.

Here’s are storylines, how you can watch the match and more:

Storylines — Cristiano Ronaldo’s return

Young Boys: The team of United States men’s national team striker Jordan Pefok, Young Boys are currently in fifth place in the Swiss League with a 2-2-1 record. The defense has conceded a goal a game, which is less than any team in the league so far and by a considerable margin. But going up against this United team is different. They are a confident bunch that will look to control the tempo, hold onto the ball and get forward in numbers, but in defense they are going to need to stay compact, give United their looks from range and hope their goalkeeper can get the job done if they are to have any chance of taking something.

Manchester United: Ronaldo’s two-goal performance against Newcastle has changed this team’s expectations. All it took was 90 minutes, and there is a belief now that they can actually win this thing with the man who has won it four times himself. Against Young Boys, nothing but a win would be acceptable. And they’ll be pleased to get this game in September and not on the road in December. If anything, United will want to start a bit faster than they did against Newcastle, and the key will be getting the ball to Ronaldo’s feet quicker but also having him stay a bit more centrally after not doing so much early on last weekend.
