What to Know
The Dallas Cowboys are on the road again on Sunday and play against the Los Angeles Chargers at 4:25 p.m. ET Sept. 19 at SoFi Stadium. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded after having run the length of the field multiple times in their most recent games.
It was close but no cigar for the Cowboys as they fell 31-29 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Thursday. One thing working slightly against Dallas was the run-of-the-mill game of their most targeted running back, RB Ezekiel Elliott, who rushed for 33 yards on 11 carries.
Special teams collected 11 points for Dallas. K Greg Zuerlein delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
Los Angeles decided to play defense against itself last week, but the team still came out ahead despite their 85 penalty yards. They managed a 20-16 win over the Washington Football Team. No one had a standout game offensively for Los Angeles, but they got scores from WR Mike Williams and RB Austin Ekeler. QB Justin Herbert ended up with a passer rating of 129.
Los Angeles’ victory lifted them to 1-0 while Dallas’ loss dropped them down to 0-1. Dallas caused 4 turnovers against Tampa Bay, so the Chargers will need to take especially good care of the ball.
