Here We Go: Expiring contracts heat up for Mbappe at PSG, Pogba at Manchester United, Dybala at Juventus

We may be in September, but the transfer market never stops. The clock is ticking on many contracts which will expire next summer and and important decisions will have to be taken very soon.

PSG won’t give up on Kylian Mbappe

“Our plan hasn’t changed, we want to focus on Kylian Mbappé,” PSG director Leonardo said of the French star that Real Madrid tried to buy in every way in the summer. With no updates on his contract, which expires in June 2022, there are still no updates, the situation will soon be very hot.

And Real are still dreaming of Mbappe as their priority signing.

Barcelona finally get a signature

Sergi Roberto will soon sign his new contract with Barcelona. The agreement, which will run until June 30, 2024, is imminent. They’ve already reached a verbal commitment which will be formalized in the coming days as his agent puts the finishing touches on the deal. With no Premier League  team calling, Sergi will remain at Barcelona.

Koeman’s Barca seat isn’t hot … yet

Meanwhile at Barcelona, Ronald Koeman’s situation is being closely watched. There’s no imminent breakup, but president Laporta expects an immediate reaction after the terrible Champions League night against Bayern Munich. If that doesn’t happen, things there could be more developments.

Pogba considering Man United offer

Mino Raiola is back in Italy to speak about the future of Paul Pogba. Discussions are still ongoing with Manchester United for as Pogba has not yet made a decision about what to do after his current contract expires in June 2022. He’s had the new contract offer on the table for weeks, and United are waiting for answers. Raiola, however, has not closed the door on a possible move back to Juventus for Pogba. Certainly, United have no intention of giving up and are waiting for Raiola to return to the negotiating table and further define Pogba’s future.

United optimistic over Lingard

There is optimism on the Jesse Lingard front. Solskjaer confirmed that there are ongoing discussions for a new contract with the player and his father, Manchester United would like to retain him with a new long-term deal.

Chelsea aim to extend Christensen

Finally, in the Premier League, Chelsea are also working on contract extensions. Andreas Christensen is very close to signing a new agreement that will bind him to Chelsea for the next few years, removing the danger that he leaves the club as a free agent.

Juventus race the clock to extend Dybala

In Italy, Juventus will meet Paulo Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun in the next few days to discuss a new contract for the attacker. The current deadline in June 2022 is very dangerous and they risk losing a potential star who has only become more important to the club after Cristiano Ronaldo’s shock departure. There are still some details to be discussed before an agreement with Dybala is reached.

Mourinho’s Roma look to extend Pellegrini

Soon it will be time to sign a new five-year contract for Italian national, Lorenzo Pellegrini. Jose Mourinho has convinced the Roma midfielder to renew and the plan is to eliminate the €30 million release clause he currently has.

Last but not least: Dani Alves

And another free agent will animate the market: Dani Alves has left Sao Paulo, Flamengo have already had contact with his agent but surprises are not excluded. The most successful player in football history is available.
