Through 3 Quarters
The Houston Cougars are on the board, but we’re still waiting on the Grambling State Tigers to respond. Three quarters in and Houston’s offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating Grambling State 42 to nothing three quarters in. A victory for the Tigers would counteract both their recent defeat and Houston’s recent win.
The Cougars have yet to string together two consecutive wins, but this may be their chance. For now, all signs point to yes.

What to Know
The Grambling State Tigers are staring down a pretty large 40.5-point disadvantage in the spread for Saturday’s matchup. They are on the road again Saturday and play against the Houston Cougars at 7 p.m. ET Sept. 18 at TDECU Stadium.
Grambling State was pulverized by the Southern Miss Golden Eagles 37 to nothing last week. The Tigers were down 20 to nothing at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Houston on the road against the Rice Owls last week as the team secured a 44-7 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 31-7 advantage. QB Clayton Tune and RB Alton McCaskill were among the main playmakers for Houston as the former passed for two TDs and 233 yards on 30 attempts in addition to picking up 50 yards on the ground and the latter punched in two rushing touchdowns in addition to snatching one receiving TD. McCaskill hadn’t helped his team much against the Texas Tech Red Raiders two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
Houston’s victory lifted them to 1-1 while Grambling State’s loss dropped them down to 1-1. We’ll see if Houston’s success rolls on or if Grambling State is able to steal their positive momentum.
