Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson broke Archie Griffin’s freshman rushing record against Tulsa on Saturday with the third-best performance in Ohio State history. Now, he’s driving away in a Chevy Camaro RS as part of a new NIL deal with the Ricart Used Car Factory, an auto dealership in Columbus, Ohio. The partnership with Ricart also reportedly includes a charitable component, but no details were released.
Henderson is quickly becoming one of the breakout stars of college football in 2021. The freshman has rushed for 346 yards through three games on 9.1 yards per carry, including a record-breaking 277-yard performance against Tulsa. In addition to his partnership with the car dealership, Henderson is one of the new faces of Arby’s new campaign to sponsor Division I “RBs.”
This isn’t the first Ohio State freshman Ricart Automotive is betting big on. Ricart signed blue-chip freshman Quinn Ewers to an NIL deal in August. Ewers drives a 2020 F250 Super Duty through Ricart’s Rabid Customs brand. Ewers’ deal included a commitment from Ricart to donate $1 per mile driven to A Kid Again Central Ohio, a local charity.
No. 10 Ohio State faces off against Akron at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. The Buckeyes will be without starting quarterback C.J. Stroud, who will only be called on in an emergency situation.
