The Cleveland Browns will be getting one of their premier playmakers back on the field this weekend. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Friday that Odell Beckham will make his 2021 debut on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

“He looked good,” Stefanski said. “He’s ready to go.”http://www.cbssports.com/”

Beckham has been out since tearing his ACL in Week 7 of last season. There was extensive preseason buzz regarding how healthy he looked during training camp, but he did not feel good enough to go and so the Browns held him out against the Chiefs in Week 1 and Texans in Week 2.

In his absence, Jarvis Landry operated as the team’s No. 1 wide receiver, but he suffered an injury of his own early in the victory over Houston and has been placed on injured reserve. Cleveland plays the Bears on Sunday, then travels to visit the Vikings and Chargers in Weeks 4 and 5. Landry will miss at least those three contests before he is eligible to return, while Beckham works his way back into the lineup.

With Landry out, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Rashard Higgins, and Anthony Schwartz will presumably continue to see increased snaps alongside Beckham. The Browns were able to remain an efficient passing offense despite Beckham’s absence during the second half of last season, and given the strength of their offensive line and coach Kevin Stefanski’s ability to scheme his players open, they should be able to do the same without Landry.
