Who’s Playing

Seattle @ Minnesota

Current Records: Seattle 1-1; Minnesota 0-2

What to Know

The Minnesota Vikings will be returning home after a two-game road trip. They will take on the Seattle Seahawks at 4:25 p.m. ET next Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. These two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

The Vikings missed a PAT kick in the second quarter against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and it came back to haunt them. Minnesota and Arizona were almost perfectly matched up, but Minnesota suffered an agonizing 34-33 loss. QB Kirk Cousins put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for three TDs and 244 yards on 32 attempts in addition to picking up 35 yards on the ground. Cousins’ 64-yard touchdown toss down the right side of the field to WR K.J. Osborn in the first quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the evening.

Speaking of close games: Seattle fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 33-30. Seattle was up 24-9 at the end of the half but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Despite the defeat, they had strong showings from WR Tyler Lockett, who caught eight passes for one TD and 178 yards, and QB Russell Wilson, who passed for two TDs and 343 yards on 31 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Wilson’s 68-yard TD bomb to WR Freddie Swain in the fourth quarter.

It could have gone either way late during winning time for the Vikings or the Seahawks when the two teams previously met in October of last year, but it was Seattle snatching the 27-26 victory. Maybe Minnesota will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the game and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
