Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 4 picks: Top players to add include Chuba Hubbard, Tyler Conklin

Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 4 picks: Top players to add include Chuba Hubbard, Tyler Conklin

Some notable Fantasy names from past seasons resurfaced as key contributors in Week 3. Arizona wide receiver A.J. Green turned back the clock to his prime Cincinnati years with five receptions for 112 yards. His former Bengals teammate, Giovani Bernard, also showed he may not be quite done yet, either. The Tampa Bay running back caught nine balls for 51 yards and a TD.

Should Green or Bernard be one of your prime Week 4 Fantasy football waiver wire picks? And which other players on Fantasy football waivers are worth adding to boost your production and outlooks? Before determining who to target on the Week 4 Fantasy football waiver wire, be sure to see what SportsLine’s resident Hall of Famer, Scott Engel, has to say.

Engel is an inaugural member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association’s Hall of Fame. He is a four-time FSWA Award Winner and 10-time nominee. In 2020, Scott was a finalist for the FSWA Fantasy Football Writer of the Year Award, which he also won previously.

In addition to being the Fantasy writer for the Seattle Seahawks‘ official site since 2012, Engel has appeared on The Athletic, SiriusXM FantasySports Radio, ESPN.com, NFL.com, the Associated Press, Yahoo Sports, SI.com, the New York Post, USA Today, RotoBaller, and of course, CBSSports.com.

Now, he’s revealed the best widely available Fantasy football free agents entering Week 4. You can see his top Fantasy NFL waiver wire picks and full analysis over at SportsLine

Top Fantasy football waiver wire picks for Week 4

One player Engel is advising Fantasy players to target on the Week 4 waiver wire: Carolina running back Chuba Hubbard. The rookie is now ready to step into a significant role for the Panthers starting in their next game against the Cowboys. Christian McCaffrey is set to miss a few weeks about injuring his hamstring on Thursday.

Hubbard averaged 4.7 yards per carry after McCaffrey went down against Houston, and with free agent options being thin at RB right now in Fantasy football, Hubbard is far and away the most coveted pickup of the week. This has already been a challenging season for RB injuries and any possible starter will be a prominent waiver add.

The Panthers also have former Broncos starter Royce Freeman in the RB mix. If Hubbard falters as the first man up in place of McCaffrey, Freeman could get a chance to see a lot of work. Engel tells you how to handle targeting both Hubbard and Freeman on free agency this week.

Engel is also strongly recommending Minnesota tight end Tyler Conklin. The Vikings passing game is looking good, and Conklin got into the flow on Sunday vs, Seattle, catching seven passes for 70 yards and a TD. Kirk Cousins is playing well right now, and can keep multiple playmakers involved in the passing game.

After his performance in Week 4, Conklin is certainly worthy of waiver consideration, because he put himself on the map at the weakest position in Fantasy football on Sunday. Fantasy players who are still seeking help at TE should add him this week.

How to set your Week 4 waiver wire claims

Engel is also all-in on a wide receiver who should be an immediate pickup. This player is widely available and could be a huge boost to your Fantasy football lineup. You can only see who it is at SportsLine
