Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will go head to head for the first time this Sunday, when the Buccaneers meet the Patriots. Neither Brady nor Belichick has given much credence to the fact that this cross-conference matchup is one of the most anticipated of the 2021 season. Both legends, who spent two decades together building and sustaining a dynasty in New England, are assuredly hungry to prove once and for all they don’t need the other. But there’s still one man capable of bringing Brady and Belichick together.

That’s according to Peyton Manning, who said early in Monday night’s ESPN2 broadcast of Eagles-Cowboys that his brother, Eli, is like “the healer” between the two. Both Brady and Belichick, of course, lost two Super Bowls to Eli during his Giants career, and both contributed video tributes to the younger Manning in honor of the quarterback having his No. 10 jersey retired — and joining the Giants’ Ring of Honor — during New York’s Week 3 game against the Falcons on Sunday.

“You’re the only one that can bring them together,” Peyton joked.

And he’s probably right.
