Bayern Munich will look to seize control of Group E on Wednesday on Paramount+ as they welcome Dynamo Kyiv to the Allianz Arena. Having won their opening game against Barcelona, the Bavarians have what ought to be one of the most favorable games of the group stage on their docket though they would be unwise to take anything for granted against their opponents.

Dynamo have not so much as conceded a goal in over a month and after a 0-0 draw at home to Benfica in the opening round of games Mirceau Lucescu’s side will believe they are firmly in the mix for a top two finish. Here is how you can watch the match and what you need to know:

Storylines

Bayern Munich: Wednesday’s match may yet be a significant one for Manuel Neuer in line for a 100th match in a competition where he has already kept 41 clean sheets. He is not the only veteran set to make history with Thomas Muller approaching 50 Champions League goals and in a rich vein of form early in a season where he has two goals and four assists in six Bundesliga games.

“Thomas may not play elegantly, but he’s world class in his own way,” former Bayern striker Mario Gomez said of Muller. “There are few players in the world who are as valuable to their team as he is. Bayern appreciate that, too.”

Dynamo Kyiv: They may not have earned quite as many headlines as Bayern but both these two sides will go into Wednesday’s game with impressive records to start the season. For Dynamo their only defeat came in the Ukrainian Super Cup against Shakhtar Donetsk last week and it is fair to ask whether Lucescu might have an eye on a rematch in the league at the weekend, particularly if his side struggle early on at the Allianz Arena.

Prediction

Bayern are in such outstanding form at the moment that this may simply be a task beyond Dynamo, no matter how well they play. PICK: Bayern 3 Dynamo 0
