Andy Reid is back and ready to hit the sidelines after a sudden hospital visit following the Chiefs‘ Week 3 loss to the Chargers. Three days after leaving Arrowhead Stadium in an ambulance for what was reportedly a precautionary checkup, Reid told reporters he’s “feeling great” since returning to the team Tuesday and is looking forward to coaching Kansas City against his former team, the Eagles, this Sunday.

“I guess I’ll start with my injury report,” Reid said Wednesday. “I’m feeling great, first of all. It’s good to be back … All is good.”

Released from the hospital on Monday, Reid did not address the media to start the week, with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo filling in. But the Chiefs announced Reid would likely return to team facilities on Monday night or Tuesday, and amid well wishes from star players like Patrick Mahomes and Tyrann Mathieu, the club fully anticipated his availability for Week 4.

“You obviously are worried when stuff like that happens,” Mahomes said Wednesday, per KSHB’s Hayley Lewis. “But they kept me at ease knowing they had it controlled … I don’t think (Andy) wants to be anywhere else in this world but here with us.”

Sunday will be especially notable for Reid’s return for multiple reasons. First, he’ll get the chance to coach in Philadelphia, where he spent his first 14 seasons as a head coach; he hasn’t been back since 2013, his first year in Kansas City. He’ll also be looking for his 100th career victory, playoff wins included, as coach of the Chiefs.
