This is a bad year to be a team that needs a quarterback

In recent years, we’ve seen Joe Burrow and Zach Wilson, and to a lesser extent, even Daniel Jones, come out of nowhere, put together solid final college seasons, and parlay that into a top 10 draft choice the following spring.

The 2021 season has no such feel-good story; instead, the two high-profile quarterbacks coming into the season — North Carolina’s Sam Howell and Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler — are struggling, and the latter was benched on Saturday and he might not get his job back. And although Liberty’s Malik Willis and Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder have been much more consistent, there are still questions about whether they’ll find their way into the first round.

Of course, the same can be said of the two QBs we have going in Round 1 of this week’s mock draft — Ole Miss’ Matt Corral has the athleticism and playmaking ability NFL teams are looking for, and Nevada’s Carson Strong is the best all-around passer, but Corral is still raw and Strong has already had three procedures on his knee.

In non-QB news, we have six cornerbacks and offensive linemen, and five edge rushers and wide receivers going off the board below, so keep reading to see how all 32 picks unfold.

Note: The draft order is based on team records through Week 4.
