MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for Oct. 12, 2021

MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for Oct. 12, 2021

Veteran Evan Longoria waited eight years to get back into the MLB Playoffs and came through with the biggest hit of his Giants career on Monday. Longoria launched a solo home run in Game 3 of the NLDS and his homer accounted for all of the game’s runs as San Francisco prevailed 1-0. The former Ray had an injury-plagued season but still posted his highest OPS since 2016 and showed the clutch gene hasn’t escaped him. With three postseason games on tap for Tuesday, Longoria will be one of the most coveted MLB DFS picks at the hot corner.

With MLB DFS values of $2,300 on FanDuel and $3,900 on DraftKings, Longoria isn’t even among the five most expensive third base options on either site. Thus, rostering him in your MLB DFS lineups means you can splurge at other positions. So, just who else should you allot your MLB DFS salary cap to for Tuesday’s games? Before finalizing your MLB DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Monday, McClure listed Rays shortstop Wander Franco among his top MLB DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Franco hit a two-run home run to return 16 points on DraftKings and 22.2 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the MLB playoffs 2021 continuing on Tuesday, October 12, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday, October 12

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday is Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, who is listed at $3,600 on FanDuel and $5,000 on DraftKings. Freeman enters Tuesday’s game on a 10-game on-base streak dating back to the regular season and has reached safely five times through the first three NLDS contests.

The reigning NL MVP has faced off against Brewers probable Eric Lauer just twice before but collected a hit in one of those at-bats. He has much more extensive success versus Milwaukee as a whole as Freeman batted .320 across 25 at-bats vs. the Brewers in the regular season. He also posted a .974 OPS against Milwaukee which is his third-highest versus any team he had at least 25 at-bats against.

Another key in McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts ($3,700 on FanDuel and $5,400 on DraftKings). Betts leads LA with five hits this postseason as he’s hitting .313 in the playoffs and has also chipped in a stolen base.

Betts has collected two hits across eight at-bats vs. Giants probable Anthony DeSclafani and one of those hits was a home run. The former AL MVP is a good hitter in any ballpark but he’s a great hitter at home in Dodger Stadium. Betts’ OPS this season was 123 points higher at home than on the road as 15 of his 23 homers also came at home. With his favorable matchup on Tuesday, you can see why McClure is high on Betts for MLB DFS lineups.
