The Boston Red Sox have eliminated the 100-win Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series. The Red Sox won three games in a row to clinch the best-of-five series after dropping Game 1 in Tampa. Boston won the final two games of the series in walk-off fashion, as Enrique Hernández’s sacrifice fly in the ninth inning of Game 4 ended the series.
The Red Sox, who won the AL Wild Card Game over the rival Yankees to reach the ALDS, will face either the Houston Astros or Chicago White Sox in the ALCS starting on Friday.
