Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 6 picks: Top players to add include Devontae Booker, Kadarius Toney

Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 6 picks: Top players to add include Devontae Booker, Kadarius Toney

The bye weeks are now here in Fantasy football, and have arrived at the same time as many significant injuries are further challenging Fantasy players. There will be a mad scramble to the waiver wire this week. There are notable player losses to deal with at running back again, as Clyde Edwards-Helaire is expected to miss a few weeks with a knee injury. Darrel Williams is the next man up at RB for Kansas City. At quarterback, Russell Wilson will miss games for the first time in his career. Now Fantasy leaguers must consider potential fill-ins such as Jameis Winston, who passed for four TDs in Week 5.

Should Williams or Winston be among your primary Week 6 Fantasy football waiver wire picks? And which other players on Fantasy football waivers are worth adding to replace injured stars and improve the outlook of your teams going forward? Before determining who to target on the Week 6 Fantasy football waiver wire, be sure to see what SportsLine’s resident Hall of Famer, Scott Engel, has to say.

Now, he’s revealed the best widely available Fantasy football free agents entering Week 6. You can see his top Fantasy NFL waiver wire picks and full analysis over at SportsLine

Top Fantasy football waiver wire picks for Week 6

One player Engel is advising Fantasy players to target on the Week 6 waiver wire: New York Giants running back Devontae Booker. The Giants signed him in the offseason as their primary insurance policy for Saquon Barkley, who was recovering from a major knee injury and was in danger of not starting the season in full playing form. Barkley was able to open the year in the starting lineup, though, and by Week 4 he looked to be recapturing much of his better form.

But bad injury luck struck for Barkley again in Week 5, when he suffered an ankle injury in a loss to Dallas. Now he is expected to miss a few weeks and Booker will be pushed into a more prominent role. He did score twice in relief of Barkley on Sunday, but his career production has been mediocre to this point. Engel tells you how aggressively to pursue Booker in free agency this week.

Engel is also strongly recommending Booker’s teammate, Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney. He was mentioned previously as a free agent addition by Engel, and now you will have to part with much more of your free agent budget to land Toney after he delivered a major breakthrough performance in Week 5. Toney set a Giants franchise record with 189 receiving yards on 10 receptions against the Cowboys

Toney also showed signs of promise in Week 4, so you should have the confidence to drop a good chunk of your FAB budget on him. He certainly demonstrated that he can be well worth what you may spend on him this week. The Giants are dealing with several significant injuries on offense, making Toney a must-add this week.

How to set your Week 6 waiver wire claims
