Inter Milan travel to Rome to face Lazio on Saturday with the titleholders four points behind Serie A leaders Napoli as Serie A action returns on Paramount+ after the international break. A victory could move Simone Inzaghi’s men to within a point of Luciano Spalletti’s Partenopei outfit, but Maurizio Sarri’s hosts have been unpredictable so far this season. Both sides return to European action next week and will be keen to return to domestic action post-internationals with all three points.

Storylines
Lazio: The Biancocelesti are sixth with 11 points from a possible 21 and need to bounce back from a 3-0 thrashing by Bologna last time out. Inter won easily last time these two sides met with a 3-1 win at Giuseppe Meazza and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic scored Lazio’s consolation effort. Ciro Immobile has six goals which is a joint-best in Serie A while Sarri’s men are also unbeaten at home this season with two wins and a draw and that is part of a bigger 16-game streak which dates to December of last year.
Inter: The Nerazzurri beat Sassuolo 2-1 last time out and they are now unbeaten in seven but still four points off the pace being set by Napoli. Edin Dzeko leads the way with six goals in the Italian topflight which ties with Immobile as the two most prolific attackers right now. Inzaghi’s Inter are also unbeaten away from home this season with three wins and a draw while the last time they lost on the road was to Juventus back in May.
Prediction
Sarri’s teams are unpredictable, but he usually gets a response when needed. I think that Lazio will pull a performance out of the bag here and narrowly beat Inter, further boosting Napoli’s title pursuit. Pick: Lazio 2-1 Inter.
