Serie A Matchday 8 action wraps up with a big one on Sunday as fourth-place Roma go to seventh-place Juventus. Roma enter the match with a 5-0-2 record but have lost two of their last four, while Juve are on a three-match winning streak in the league, going from the relegation zone to pushing European places in seventh. A win for Roma can pull them within four points of leaders AC Milan, while Juve need a win to move within a point of Sunday’s opponent for the top four.

Here’s are storylines, how you can watch the match on Paramount+ and more:

How to watch and odds

  • Date: Sunday, Oct. 17 | Time: 2:45 p.m. ET

  • Odds: Juve -112; Draw +260; Roma +310 (via Caesars Sportsbook)

Storylines

Juve: It remains to be seen if this team truly has turned the corner and found form, but they are undefeated in their last six, haven’t conceded a goal in their last two games and even beat Champions League winner Chelsea during the stretch. The defense has been a bit sharper, but part of that has been to the midfield playing a bit more cautiously and getting rid of the ball sooner. They will need that constant movement of the ball, small, short touches and the ability to pick out passes on the flanks to stop Roma’s midfield pressure. If they can do that, they’ll be well positioned for the three points.

Roma: All eyes on Tammy Abraham as the towering English forward goes up against the tall and stronger center-backs of Juve. Abraham must not try to do too much in the box. If he can get the ball at his feet, he must quickly look to fire off a shot as Juve have been closing down well. In the air, he could be key on set pieces, but more so at the front post than the back post. Keep an eye on his positioning early and if he plays a bit more direct to goal rather than holding it up.

Prediction

Paulo Dybala may still be out, but Alvaro Morata is the difference on an assist from Weston McKennie. Pick: Juve 2, Roma 1
