MILWAUKEE — Last season, the Milwaukee Bucks completed an incredible postseason run by beating the Phoenix Suns 4-2 to win their first NBA championship in 50 years. Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished with 50 points in the series-clinching Game 6, was named Finals MVP and fulfilled his promise to bring a title to Milwaukee.
The city has been riding that high all summer long, and on Tuesday night, ahead of their opening night matchup with the Brooklyn Nets, the celebration continued. In a pre-game ceremony, the Bucks unveiled their championship banner and the players and coaches received their rings.
Every member of the front office and coaching staff was honored, as well as every player who is still on the team. Those no longer on the roster will receive their rings at a later date. Unsurprisingly, the biggest cheer of the night went to Giannis.
Prior to the banner being unveiled, Khris Middleton addressed the crowd and thanked everyone who played a part in helping the Bucks accomplish their goal.
“Milwaukee we did it. We finally did it,” Middleton said. “There’s a lot of people here that we should thank. First, I want to say thanks to all of our families for the constant support that they gave us in traveling our schedule. Then I also want to thank every member of our organization from the top, from our ownership group, down to the entire front office, to our coaching staff, to our medical staff and to all our players here. We couldn’t do it without y’all or anybody.”
“But, finally, we couldn’t do this without you guys either,” Middleton continued. “From inside this building, to outside in Deer District, and all around the world we definitely felt your guys’ energy and we couldn’t do it without you guys. So, thank you.”

They feature the Bucks’ logo, the Larry O’Brien trophy and the players’ names and numbers. In addition, the Bucks’ slogans of “Fear the Deer” and “Bucks In 6” are featured prominently. As are the number of games in which it took the Bucks to win each series along the way.
