Following a wave of near-upsets, the top of the Coaches Poll remained the same as Georgia again captured all 64 votes for the No. 1 spot. However, Penn State fell nine spots to No. 17 after losing a historic nine-overtime game against Illinois on Saturday.
After a close encounter against Kansas, Oklahoma fell two spots to No. 4. No. 2 Cincinnati and No. 3 Alabama jumped the Sooners following the far-too-competitive game. Ohio State, meanwhile, remained at No. 5 after comfortably beating Indiana.
Oklahoma State dropped six spots to No. 15 and out of the top 10 after suffering its first loss of the season against Iowa State, clearing the way for the Cyclones to reenter the poll at No. 23. The losses opened the door for No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 10 Iowa to join the top 10. NC State and Coastal Carolina remained in the polls despite losses.
