Nobody is going to feel sorry for the six-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots (2-4), but through six weeks, their schedule hasn’t been a cakewalk. Three of their four losses have come against the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys, who are a combined 13-4. One of their two wins has come against the New York Jets (1-4), who they face again on Sunday. After coming on-and-off the field for a couple of examinations by trainers in last week’s loss, he wasn’t even included on the injury report this week. The Jets haven’t given up a rushing touchdown to a running back this season, but they have given up the third-most rushing yards with 356.
The Jets have some concerns on defense coming into the game as both of their starting safeties have been limited in practice this week. Marcus Maye (ankle) was a full participant on Thursday but top tackler, linebacker C.J. Mosley (hamstring), is out. Wilson has the lowest passer rating (62.9) among all starting rookie quarterbacks this season and the second-lowest yards per completion (6.4).
