We are almost into double figures for matches played in Serie A (catch all the action on Paramount+) and the league table is starting to take shape with Napoli and AC Milan now leading the pack together. Juventus are gaining ground all the time while Atalanta are trailing off towards midtable.

1 – Napoli (-)
Although a goalless draw with Roma ends their 100% winning record, Luciano Spalletti’s men remain out in front and just one of two unbeaten sides with Milan.
2 – Milan (-)
The 4-2 win over Bologna means that they are now level with Napoli and not far off usurping them at the summit coming into this week’s doubleheader of games.
3 – Inter (-)
A 1-1 draw with Juventus keeps Simone Inzaghi’s men in the top three but the gap between them and the two leaders is now significant.
4 – Roma (+1)
The stalemate with Napoli was a decent response to the embarrassment of their European humbling against Bodo-Glimt but they remain off the pace along with Inter.
5 – Juventus (+1)
The tie with Inter keeps Massimiliano Allegri and his men threatening to break into the top three to complete recovery from a slow start to the season.
6 – Lazio (-2)
A 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Verona is very much in keeping with their unpredictable nature in the image of their head coach Maurizio Sarri.
7 – Fiorentina (+1)
A 3-0 win over Cagliari gets them moving in the right direction once more after a few setbacks had seen them drop downwards after a good start.
8 – Atalanta (-1)
Their 1-1 draw with Udinese capped a disappointing week for Gian Piero Gasperini’s men after their Old Trafford capitulation in the Champions League.
9 – Udinese (-)
On the other hand, the point was very handy for Luca Gotti’s side as they continue to be a resilient group considering their limited ability.
10 – Verona (+3)
Their 4-1 thrashing of Lazio continues Igor Tudor’s impressive start to life as boss and the Gialloblu are upwardly mobile once more and outscoring many of the sides above them in the table.
11 – Torino (-)
A narrow win over Genoa gets them back on track after a disappointing run which Ivan Juric’s men will now hope to build on with this week’s doubleheader.
12 – Empoli (-)
A 4-2 thrashing of Salernitana moves them into the top half of the table and within reach of the European positions which would be a significant surprise if they can keep this pace up.
13 – Bologna (-3)
Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men continue to fall off after their 4-2 loss to Milan and now they have just one win from their last five which was an unexpected mauling of Lazio.
14 – Sassuolo (+1)
Sassuolo and Venzia switch places after last week’s 3-1 win and this could be the beginning of some form coming together as they have won two of their last five.
15 – Venezia (-1)
Paolo Zanetti’s men slip back down a place after their win over Fiorentina boosted them up and they are yet to break into double figures.
16 – Sampdoria (+1)
A valuable win over Spezia which brought an end to a poor run of three losses from four which put coach Roberto D’Aversa under pressure.
17 – Spezia (-1)
The narrow loss to Sampdoria sees Thiago Motta’s men slip a little with six losses from their last eight in Serie A.
18 – Cagliari (-)
Walter Mazzarri continues to struggle to get the Sardinians to rise and they have now wion just one of their last nine.
19 – Genoa (-)
Another week and another failure to win with a narrow 3-2 loss to Torino a sixth game without a win in a season when they have one solitary victory to their name.
20 – Salernitana (-)
The 4-2 loss to Empoli will have spelled out the challenge ahead of Stefano Colantuono and he now must turn around a situation with just one win all season long.
