Who’s Playing

Cleveland @ Los Angeles

Current Records: Cleveland 2-2; Los Angeles 1-2

What to Know

The Cleveland Cavaliers are 3-9 against the Los Angeles Clippers since January of 2016, but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Wednesday. Cleveland is on the road again Wednesday and plays against Los Angeles at 10:30 p.m. ET Oct. 27 at Staples Center. These two teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.

The Cavaliers had enough points to win and then some against the Denver Nuggets on Monday, taking their contest 99-87. Cleveland’s center Jarrett Allen was one of the most active players for the squad, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 boards.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles took their game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday by a conclusive 116-86 score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Los Angeles had established a 91-61 advantage. Their success was spearheaded by the efforts of shooting guard Luke Kennard, who shot 6-for-7 from downtown and finished with 23 points, and shooting guard Terance Mann, who had 13 points and five assists along with five rebounds. Mann had some trouble finding his footing against the Memphis Grizzlies this past Saturday, so this was a step in the right direction.

Cleveland is expected to lose this next one by 8. They are currently two-for-two against the spread in their most recent games, however, a trend bettors might want to take into account.

The wins brought the Cavaliers up to 2-2 and the Clippers to 1-2. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Cleveland comes into the game boasting the third fewest fouls per game in the league at 16.5. On the other end of the spectrum, Los Angeles is second worst in the league in fouls per game, with 23 on average. Keep an eye on whether or not foul trouble puts Los Angeles in a difficult position.
