What to Know
The Orlando Magic will be returning home after a two-game road trip. Orlando and the Charlotte Hornets will face off in a Southeast Division battle at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday at Amway Center. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’
The Magic received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 107-90 to the Miami Heat. Small forward Franz Wagner (15 points) and point guard Jalen Suggs (15 points) were the top scorers for Orlando.
Meanwhile, Charlotte fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Boston Celtics on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 140-129. The top scorers for Charlotte were small forward Miles Bridges (25 points) and point guard LaMelo Ball (25 points).
Orlando is expected to lose this next one by 5.5. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn’t have high expectations for them since the squad is 1-3 ATS when expected to lose.
The losses put the Magic at 1-3 and the Hornets at a reciprocal 3-1. A pair of offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Orlando has only been able to knock down 40.50% percent of their shots, which is the third lowest field goal percentage in the league. Charlotte’s offense has more to brag about, as they they come into the game boasting the second most points per game in the league at 121.5. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
