What to Know
The Los Angeles Chargers should come into this matchup well-rested after a week off from action. They will take on the New England Patriots at 4:05 p.m. ET next Sunday at home. Los Angeles is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
The Chargers have to be hurting after a devastating 34-6 defeat at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens last week. Los Angeles was down 27-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. No one had a standout game offensively for Los Angeles, but they got one touchdown from QB Justin Herbert.
Meanwhile, New England ran circles around the New York Jets on Sunday, and the extra yardage (551 yards vs. 299 yards) paid off. New England steamrolled past New York 54-13 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-7. RB Damien Harris was the offensive standout of the contest for the Patriots, rushing for two TDs and 106 yards on 14 carries.
The Chargers took a serious blow against New England when the two teams previously met in December of last year, falling 45 to nothing. Can Los Angeles avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll soon find out.
