What to Know
The Chicago Bears will take on the San Francisco 49ers at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at Soldier Field. The Bears earned a 14-9 win in their most recent contest against San Francisco in December of 2018.
The evening started off rough for Chicago on Sunday, and it ended that way, too. They were completely outmatched by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road and fell 38-3. Chicago was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 35-3. The losing side was boosted by RB Khalil Herbert, who picked up 100 yards on the ground on 18 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Herbert has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season.
Meanwhile, San Francisco came up short against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, falling 30-18. QB Jimmy Garoppolo had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball once with only 181 yards passing.
Both teams will surely be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the win column after losses this week. Giving up five turnovers, Chicago had had trouble holding onto the ball. We’ll see if the 49ers can exploit that vulnerability.
