NFL odds, lines, picks, spreads, bets, predictions for Week 8, 2021: Model backing Colts, Bills

The Week 8 NFL schedule features several matchups that could be pivotal as fans and teams alike start to gaze towards the NFL playoff picture. The Chargers are 4.5-point favorites against the Patriots, while the Browns are 3.5-point favorites against the Steelers, per the Week 8 NFL odds at Caesars Sportsbook. Which NFL spreads should you back on Sunday?

Can the Browns show they’ve righted the ship after faceplanting against the Cardinals in Week 6? Will the Patriots really miss the postseason for the second consecutive year and fail to cover one of the slimmest NFL Vegas lines of the week? All of the Week 8 NFL lines are listed below, and SportsLine’s advanced computer model has all the NFL betting advice and predictions you need to make the best Week 8 NFL picks now.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,700 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. The model enters Week 8 of the 2021 season on an incredible 126-85 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

Now, it has turned its attention to the latest Week 8 NFL odds from Caesars and locked in picks for every NFL matchup. Head here to see every pick.

Top Week 8 NFL predictions

One of the model’s strongest Week 8 NFL picks is that the Bills (-14) cover at home against the Dolphins. Buffalo is coming off a loss to the Titans that ended a four-game winning streak, while Miami is rolling in on a six-game losing streak, having lost every game since a Week 1 win over the Patriots.

While they are the second-highest favorites of the week at Caesars, the Bills had won three consecutive games by double-digits before their loss to the Titans. Now off a bye week against a team it blew out by a score of 35-0 in Week 2, there’s every reason to back the Bills at home. The model projects Josh Allen to go over 300 yards passing and the Buffalo defense to get at least two turnovers.

In simulations from SportsLine’s model, Buffalo wins and covers the spread almost 60 percent of the time. The point total of 48.5 hits the over more than 50 percent of the time as well.

Another one of its Week 8 NFL predictions: The Colts (-2.5) cover against the Titans well over 50 percent of the time. It took a couple of weeks, but Colts coach Frank Reich unlocked the version of Carson Wentz that nearly resulted in an MVP award in Philadelphia. Wentz has posted four straight games with multiple TDs and no INTs, making him the first Colts QB to do that since Peyton Manning 15 years ago. This stretch has resulted in a 3-1 record for Indianapolis, with the lone defeat coming in overtime.

Meanwhile, the Titans may be due for a letdown after knocking off last year’s AFC title game participants, the Bills and Chiefs, in back-to-back weeks. Tennessee has looked less than impressive on the road and gave the Jets their only win of the season earlier this month.

The model sees Tennessee’s offense struggling, with quarterback Ryan Tannehill being sacked multiple times and turning the ball over. It has the Colts covering the spread in almost 60 percent of simulations, and it also has the under (51) hitting well over 50 percent of the time.

How to make Week 8 NFL picks

The model has also made the call on who wins and covers in every other game on the Week 8 NFL schedule, and it’s calling for a Super Bowl contender to go down hard. You can only get every pick for every game at SportsLine.

So which NFL picks can you make with confidence, and which Super Bowl contender goes down hard?
