The Atlanta Braves won the 2021 World Series on Tuesday night, defeating the Houston Astros in six games. The Braves’ championship is their first since 1995, and serves as the culmination of an improbable run that saw Atlanta overcome numerous obstacles, including a losing record entering August and the injury-caused absences of outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. and starting pitcher Mike Soroka

While the Braves and their fans celebrate and make parade plans, the rest of the majors can now set their sights toward the 2022 season with the hopes of having it end with a champagne shower of their own. We figured we’d highlight next year’s World Series odds, as forecasted by Caesar’s Sportsbook.

In layman’s terms, the Dodgers are once again favored to win the World Series. That might qualify as a surprise, given that Los Angeles is staring down an offseason that will see Corey Seager, Max Scherzer, Clayton Kershaw, Chris Taylor, and Kenley Jansen qualify for free agency. Clearly folks are confident in Andrew Friedman and Brandon Gomes’ ability to retain and/or improve upon those individuals.

Elsewhere, the Braves are considered to have a fair chance at repeating as champions. MLB hasn’t had a team win consecutive World Series since the Yankees pulled off a three-peat back in 1998-2000.

As for the flip side of the coin, no one seems to believe in the Diamondbacks or Orioles’ chances of going worst-to-first. We can’t blame them.
