Through 3 Quarters

The San Diego State Aztecs were expected to win this one, and they are just one quarter away from fulfilling that expectation. Sitting on a score of 14-7, they have looked like the better squad out there today, but there’s still one more quarter to play.

RB Greg Bell has led the way so far for San Diego State, as he has punched in one rushing touchdown. The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have been riding high on the performance of RB Calvin Turner, who has snatched one receiving TD.

This is the least points the Rainbow Warriors have had yet this year going into the fourth quarter.

Current Records: San Diego State 7-1; Hawaii 4-5

What to Know

The San Diego State Aztecs and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are set to square off in a Mountain West matchup at 11 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Clarence T.C. Ching Complex. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’

The Aztecs came up short against the Fresno State Bulldogs last week, falling 30-20. No one had a standout game offensively for San Diego State, but they got scores from RB Greg Bell, WR Tyrell Shavers, and QB Will Haskell.

Meanwhile, Hawaii ended up a good deal behind the Utah State Aggies when they played last week, losing 51-31. Despite their defeat, Hawaii got to see several of their players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. RB Dedrick Parson, who caught seven passes for one TD and 115 yards, was the best among equals.

San Diego State is the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread last week might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

San Diego State is now 7-1 while the Rainbow Warriors sit at 4-5. Two stats to keep an eye on: The Aztecs are 219th worst in the nation in passing yards per game, with only 135.7 on average. Hawaii has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 231st most passing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 306.9 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
