Rams vs. Titans odds, spread, line: Sunday Night Football picks, predictions from NFL model on 128-86 run

Rams vs. Titans odds, spread, line: Sunday Night Football picks, predictions from NFL model on 128-86 run

The Tennessee Titans will be looking for a new offensive identity when they visit the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. Both teams come in having won four in a row, but Tennessee (6-2) paid a heavy price for its 34-31 overtime win against the Colts last week. Rushing leader Derrick Henry broke a bone in his foot and needed surgery that could cost him the rest of the season. The Rams (7-1), meanwhile, cruised to a 38-22 victory against Houston last week.

Kickoff from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Los Angeles is a 7.5-point favorite in the latest Titans vs. Rams odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and the Over-Under for total points scored is 53. Before locking in any Rams vs. Titans picks, you need to check out the NFL predictions and betting advice from the red-hot SportsLine Projection Model.

Why the Rams can cover

Los Angeles is an NFL-best 11-2 against the spread in primetime since 2019 and has covered in five straight marquee matchups. Quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp have developed the best rapport in the league. Stafford is second in passing yards (2,477) and has 22 TD passes and just four interceptions. Kupp leads the league with 924 receiving yards and has 10 TDs, making him the first receiver in NFL history to reach both numbers in the first eight games. Los Angeles is scoring 30.6 points per game (fifth).

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill has been brought down 24 times this season, and without much to fear from the Titans’ run game, Leonard Floyd (6.5 sacks) and Aaron Donald (five) will get after him. Von Miller, acquired in a trade from Denver this week, also could get in on the action. L.A. is tied for the league lead with 11 interceptions, and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey is one of four players with two.

Why the Titans can cover

Tennessee has been an underdog in four games this season and won all of them, and the Titans are 6-2 against the spread. Tennessee is 17-13 straight-up as an underdog under coach Mike Vrabel. Tannehill will need to step up his game, and the veteran threw for 265 yards and three TDs in last week’s victory. He has 2,002 passing yards and 10 touchdowns and is the team’s top rushing option remaining with 165 yards. Adrian Peterson was brought in to take over, with top running back Jeremy McNichols having just 246 career rushing yards to his name.

The veteran Peterson had 604 total yards and ran for seven TDs with Detroit last season. McNichols plays a key role on passing downs and has 21 catches for 203 yards, and wideout A.J. Brown (35 for 539) is still a threat. The Titans defense has been strong against the run (100.8 yards, eighth) and allows 24.2 points per game (20th). It has struggled against the pass (267.4 yards, 24th), but Harold Landry is tied for second in the league with 8.5 sacks, and safety Kevin Byard has four interceptions.
