What to know about California 

The Golden Bears struggled to a 9-20 record last season with a 3-17 mark in Pac-12 play. Cal lost 11 of its last 12 regular season games, but did upset Stanford in the Pac-12 Tournament before falling to Colorado in the next round. The team struggled on offense, averaging just 65.4 points per game, which ranked 310th nationally. 

The Golden Bears were, however, a little better on defense, giving up 69.2 points per game, which ranked 142nd nationally. Mark Fox, formerly at Georgia, enters his third season as the head coach for Cal. He has a 22-37 overall record at the school.
