The Miami Dolphins have dealt with multiple injuries to their starting quarterback this season. On Thursday night, they were dealt an injury to their backup.

Jacoby Brissett started against the Baltimore Ravens in place of an injured Tua Tagovailoa, but sustained a knee injury early in the third quarter and was forced from the game. Brissett was sacked by Baltimore edge rusher Justin Houston on the first drive of the second half and appeared to be in tremendous pain.

He remained on the ground through a commercial break but was eventually able to walk off the field under his own power. However, he walked directly into the blue medical tent on the sideline.

Brissett was replaced by Tagovailoa on the following drive. Brissett started the game in place of Tagovailoa, who was in uniform as the backup despite an injury to the middle finger on his throwing hand. The injury caused him to miss last week’s game against the Houston Texans, which Brissett also started.

According to the FOX broadcast, Brissett was cleared to return to the game, but Dolphins coach Brian Flores told him to remain on the bench.
