Who’s Playing

South Carolina @ Missouri

Current Records: South Carolina 5-4; Missouri 4-5

What to Know

The Missouri Tigers will be returning home after a two-game road trip. Mizzou and the South Carolina Gamecocks will face off in an SEC battle at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday at Memorial Stadium at Faurot Field. Allowing an average of 36.78 points per game, the Tigers have been asleep on the defensive side of the ball and will need to wake up before the game.

Mizzou played a contest they are hoping to forget as they lost a 43-6 blowout to the Georgia Bulldogs last week. Mizzou was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 26-3.

Meanwhile, the Florida Gators typically have all the answers at home, but last week USC proved too difficult a challenge. USC made easy work of the Gators and carried off a 40-17 victory. With the Gamecocks ahead 30-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already. Their success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but RB Kevin Harris led the charge as he picked up 128 yards on the ground on 16 carries. This was the first time Harris has racked up 100+ rushing yards all year.

Special teams collected 16 points for USC. K Parker White delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.

This next game is expected to be close, with the Tigers going off at just a 1-point favorite. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.

South Carolina’s win lifted them to 5-4 while Missouri’s loss dropped them down to 4-5. We’ll see if the Gamecocks’ success rolls on or if Mizzou is able to steal their positive momentum.
