The New Jersey Tech Highlanders will square off against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Stabler Arena. New Jersey Tech was 7-12 last year and is coming off of a 61-54 loss against the Merrimack Warriors on Thursday. Lehigh was 4-11 last season and is coming off of a 73-70 defeat against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Wednesday.
A couple last-season numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Highlanders could only manage to knock down 40.40% of their shots, making them 24th worst (bottom 92%) in college basketball in field goal percentage. Lehigh experienced some struggles of their own as theys allowed their opponents to shoot an average of 46.90% from the floor, which was the 107th highest shooting percentage allowed (top 90%) in college basketball. So maybe these sore spots will just cancel each other out if things haven’t changed too much in the offseason.
