You hear coaches and players say all the time that you can’t overlook your opponent. While that may be the case for them on a weekly basis, the betting community has a different approach. Keeping an eye on the lookahead lines is vital to betting in the NFL as there sometimes is value to be had by getting in early. If you can spot a line for the next week that looks a bit out of whack prior to the full slate of games being played, there’s an opportunity to cash on a line that could be on the move once those games conclude.

As we do every Friday, we’ll take a look at the NFL lines a week in advance to see if there is any value we can jump on. Naturally, most of these lines will shift as we get closer to Week 11, so now is as good of a time as ever to stay on top of things in the weeks ahead. Below, you’ll find all the lookahead lines for Week 11 along with some bets to consider before the lines change.

Picks to consider

Packers (-2) at Vikings

The Vikings are coming off a deflating overtime loss to the Ravens in Week 9 and now have to go on the road to the West Coast and face Justin Herbert and a Los Angeles Chargers team that is in must-win mode with the entire AFC West sitting with five wins. That smells like a game where Minnesota could struggle. Meanwhile, the Packers have been dealing with the COVID-19 saga with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to clear protocols for their upcoming game with Seattle. If Rodgers returns and looks like the MVP-caliber quarterback we’ve come to know as we anticipate and the Vikings struggle on the road, this line should bump up closer to a field goal. Getting below that critical threshold with a team in the Packers, who enter Week 10 with an NFL-best 8-1 ATS mark, is where I’d want to be.

49ers (-5.5) at Jaguars

I’m chalking up that miraculous straight-up win by the Jaguars over the Bills as one of those fluky things you see on occasion in the NFL and nothing more than that. This is still one of the worst teams in the league and is sitting as a 10.5-point dog as they head on the road to face the Colts on Sunday. While the 49ers will be playing on a short week, they are a pretty good matchup against the Jaguars. Jacksonville’s running game ranks sixth in the NFL in DVOA, but San Francisco’s run defense ranks sixth in the league as well. The Niners’ passing game also just got back George Kittle last week to pair with Deebo Samuel and the tight end looked like his old self with 101 yards and a touchdown. If the Jaguars come back down the earth against the Colts and the 49ers put up a good fight against the Rams on Monday night, this number could move to -6.5 or -7 points.
