Who’s Playing

Minnesota @ Princeton

Current Records: Minnesota 2-0; Princeton 2-0

What to Know

The Minnesota Golden Gophers will take on the Princeton Tigers at 7:30 p.m. ET Sunday at Harrah’s Cherokee Center. Both teams are tiptoeing into their matchup after sneaking past their previous opponents.

Minnesota sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 73-69 victory over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers this past Friday. Four players on the Golden Gophers scored in the double digits: forward Jamison Battle (20), guard Payton Willis (19), guard Eylijah Stephens (18), and forward Eric Curry (11).

Speaking of close games: Princeton narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the South Carolina Gamecocks 66-62. The top scorer for the Tigers was Jaelin Llewellyn (16 points).

Barring any buzzer beaters, Minnesota is expected to win a tight contest. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a two-game streak of ATS wins.

Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-0. In Minnesota’s victory, Jamison Battle shot 5-for-12 from beyond the arc and finished with 20 points and six rebounds and Eylijah Stephens had 18 points along with five boards. We’ll see if Princeton have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
