Who’s Playing

Indiana @ New York

Current Records: Indiana 6-8; New York 7-6

What to Know

The New York Knicks will take on the Indiana Pacers at 7:30 p.m. ET Monday at Madison Square Garden after having had a few days off. Indiana should still be riding high after a victory, while the Knicks will be looking to get back in the win column.

New York came up short against the Charlotte Hornets this past Friday, falling 104-96. New York was up 34-18 at the end of the first quarter but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Power forward Julius Randle wasn’t much of a difference maker for New York; Randle picked up four fouls and turned the ball over five times en route to a 4-for-15, 10-point finish.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn’t a dominant performance, Indiana beat the Philadelphia 76ers 118-113 this past Saturday. Small forward Justin Holiday and power forward Domantas Sabonis were among the main playmakers for the Pacers as the former shot 6-for-8 from downtown and finished with 27 points and the latter dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds in addition to five assists.

The Knicks are the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. Their home court has been no bettor’s paradise, though, as they’ve failed to beat the spread in four of their six home games.

New York is now 7-6 while Indiana sits at 6-8. A couple stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: New York enters the contest with 6.15 blocked shots per game on average, good for fourth best in the league. But the Pacers are even better: they come into the game boasting the most blocked shots per game in the league at 6.57. Points in the paint might be hard to come by.
