What to Know
After a three-game homestand, the Boston College Eagles will be on the road. They will take on the Rhode Island Rams at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Thomas M. Ryan Center. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.
The Eagles were able to grind out a solid victory over the Fairfield Stags on Sunday, winning 72-64. BC can attribute much of their success to guard Makai Ashton-Langford, who had 17 points, and guard Jaeden Zackery, who had 13 points and six assists.
Meanwhile, Rhode Island didn’t have too much trouble with the Bryant Bulldogs at home this past Friday as they won 83-64. The Rams got double-digit scores from four players: Makhel Mitchell (17), Ishmael Leggett (13), Makhi Mitchell (13), and Jeremy Sheppard (10).
The wins brought BC up to 3-0 and Rhode Island to 2-0. A pair of last-season stats to keep an eye on: BC comes into the game boasting the 28th highest field goal percentage in college basketball at 42.20%. But Rhode Island have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 30.60%, which places them eighth in college basketball. We’ll see which of these strengths — offense or defense — will win out.
