Who’s Playing
Fairleigh Dickinson @ Northwestern
Current Records: Fairleigh Dickinson 0-1; Northwestern 3-0
What to Know
The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights have quite the challenge ahead of them as they’re expected to be blown off the court 1. They are on the road again Thursday and play against the Northwestern Wildcats at 9 p.m. ET Nov. 18 at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Northwestern will be strutting in after a victory while the Knights will be stumbling in from a loss.
It’s hard to picture a worse defeat than the 93-49 bruising that Fairleigh Dickinson suffered against the Seton Hall Pirates last week. Devon Dunn had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only five points on 2-for-10 shooting in his 26 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, Northwestern strolled past the New Orleans Privateers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 83-67. Northwestern’s forward Pete Nance looked sharp as he had 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks.
Fairleigh Dickinson is now 0-1 while the Wildcats sit at 3-0. Two last-season stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Knights are stumbling into the matchup with the 40th fewest takeaways in college basketball, having accrued only 14 on average. But Northwestern ranks second in college basketball when it comes to turnovers per game, with only 11.8 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
