Combate Global picks for Nov. 19 fight card in Miami
Before tuning into Friday’s fight card, you need to see the picks from SportsLine’s MMA insider Andrew Gombas. With more than 1,200 selections tracked by the third-party monitoring service Bet MMA, Gombas has shown a 10 percent return on investment for his followers. In 2020, $100 bettors who tailed his picks were up $9,200.
For Friday’s Combate Global fight card, Gombas is picking Miguel Gonzalez to win in a featherweight bout against Chris Boasso. Gonzalez (4-1) is a 27-year-old Mexican fighter who will be making his Combate Global debut. Despite losing his last fight, he has proven power, with all three of his wins coming by knockout.
Boasso (3-1) is also 27 and all three of his victories have come by knockout. However, all three of those were knockouts initiated standing up. Gonzalez should have an advantage as a wrestler, having taken the fight to the ground to beat Frank Hernandez with a rear naked choke and also earning a ground and pound knockout over Uriel Perez.
“Boasso is coming off two knockout wins in a row. He takes on Gonzalez, who just experienced his first professional MMA loss,” Gombas told SportsLine. “Both of these fighters are efficient strikers, but I lean Gonzalez in the grappling department and think he gets it done.”
