Wisconsin vs. Nebraska odds, spread, line: College football picks, Week 12 predictions, bets from proven model

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers begin to wind down their Big Ten schedule on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 3:30 p.m. ET at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisc. Nebraska hasn’t beaten Wisconsin since 2012, and that was during a home game in Lincoln.

The Badgers are favored by 9.5 points in the latest Wisconsin vs. Nebraska odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and the over-under is set at 42. Before locking in any Nebraska vs. Wisconsin picks, be sure to check out the college football predictions from the model at SportsLine.

What you need to know about Wisconsin

Wisconsin smoked Northwestern in its last game on Saturday, 35-7. The Badgers put up close to 500 yards of offense, while the Wildcats finished with just 239. The game was essentially decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0. RB Braelon Allen had another big game on the ground for Wisconsin, rushing for three touchdowns and 173 yards on 25 carries.

The Badgers have the eleventh-best rushing offense in the country, led by Allen, who has 834 yards and nine touchdowns with a 7.1 yards per carry average. Junior running back Chez Mellusi has also been strong, and has run for 815 yards with five touchdowns. The pair should be prepared for a long day at the office this weekend, because Nebraska has actually been decent at stopping the run. The Huskers are 38th in the nation against opposing rushing attacks, and have allowed just 3.72 yards per carry.

What you need to know about Nebraska

Nebraska came up short against the Ohio State Buckeyes last week, falling 26-17. Although the Huskers haven’t had a lot of success winning games, they have done a good job keeping them close, and only lost their three games prior to last week by a touchdown or less. Nebraska’s loss shouldn’t diminish the performances of WR Samori Toure, who caught four passes for 150 yards and a score, and QB Adrian Martinez, who passed for 248 yards and a touchdown in addition to rushing for one TD and 51 yards.

Nebraska senior safety Deontai Williams has four interceptions this season and Wisconsin QB Graham Mertz has thrown a pick in each of his last two games. That being said, has has only been picked off three times since throwing four against Notre Dame on September 25. The Huskers have been a middle-of the road program at stopping opponents on third downs this season, but Wisconsin hasn’t been particularly good at converting them, at just a 33 percent success rate in 2021.
