Who’s Playing
Northern Colorado @ California Baptist
Current Records: Northern Colorado 3-2; California Baptist 5-0
What to Know
The California Baptist Lancers will play host again and welcome the Northern Colorado Bears to CBU Events Center, where tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET on Sunday. California Baptist is out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
The Lancers escaped with a win this past Thursday against the San Jose State Spartans by the margin of a single free throw, 67-66. California Baptist relied on the efforts of Reed Nottage, who shot 6-for-9 from downtown and finished with 28 points and five boards, and Taran Armstrong, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 12 assists, and ten rebounds. That’s Armstrong’s first triple-double of the season.
Meanwhile, Northern Colorado lost to the Texas Longhorns on the road by a decisive 62-49 margin. The top scorers for Northern Colorado were Daylen Kountz (14 points), Kur Jongkuch (13 points), and Matt Johnson II (12 points).
Barring any buzzer beaters, California Baptist is expected to win a tight contest. Those burned by picking them against the spread this past Thursday might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
California Baptist’s victory lifted them to 5-0 while Northern Colorado’s defeat dropped them down to 3-2. We’ll see if the Lancers can repeat their recent success or if the Bears bounce back and reverse their fortune.
