Who’s Playing
Albany @ No. 13 Kentucky
Current Records: Albany 0-4; Kentucky 3-1
What to Know
The Albany Great Danes will hit the road for the second straight game as they head to Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center at 7 p.m. ET on Monday. The #13 Kentucky Wildcats will be strutting in after a victory while the Great Danes will be stumbling in from a loss.
The contest between Albany and the Eastern Kentucky Colonels this past Saturday was not a total blowout, but with Albany falling 77-64 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one.
Meanwhile, UK had enough points to win and then some against the Ohio Bobcats this past Friday, taking their matchup 77-59. Four players on UK scored in the double digits: forward Keion Brooks Jr. (22), guard Tyty Washington Jr. (20), guard Davion Mintz (12), and guard Sahvir Wheeler (11). Davion Mintz’s performance made up for a slower game against the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers last week.
Albany is now 0-4 while the Wildcats sit at 3-1. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Great Danes are stumbling into the contest with the 33rd most turnovers per game in college basketball, having accrued 16.5 on average. UK has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 29th worst in college basketball in takeaways, with only 11 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
