NBA DFS: Donovan Mitchell and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for Nov. 22, 2021

After losing eight of nine games played between October 28 and November 12, the Atlanta Hawks have flipped a switch and won four in a row. A big part of the resurgence has been the 3-point shooting of Kevin Huerter during that stretch. He’s shot 55.6 percent from beyond the arc, and would likely have even better numbers than his 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during that run, had he not tweaked his hamstring and exited early against Orlando on November 15.

In his last two games, he’s scored 19 points against Boston on November 17, and 17 points against Charlotte on Saturday. Is Huerter a good option for NBA DFS lineups again on Monday against an Oklahoma City Thunder team that just allowed Boston to hit 43.6 percent of its 3-pointers on Saturday? And which other options in the NBA DFS player pool should you be considering? Before making any NBA DFS picks for Monday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Sunday, McClure listed Bulls guard Zach LaVine as part of his NBA DFS player pool on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: LaVine finished with 21 points, six rebounds and four assists to return 37.5 points on DraftKings and 38.2 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Monday, November 22 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Monday, November 22

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Monday is Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell at $8,500 on DraftKings and $8,300 on FanDuel. Mitchell is coming off of his best performance since November 11, when he scored 26 points with five rebounds and five assists in a win against Sacramento on Saturday.

On Monday, the Jazz host Memphis, and the Grizzlies have been a bottom-10 Fantasy defense against opposing shooting guards. Among the teams that Mitchell played at least two games against last season, he had his second-highest scoring average (35 points per game), fourth-most assists (6.5 per game) and second-highest 3-point percentage (71.4) against the Grizzlies. Against the Timberwolves on Saturday, Memphis allowed D’Angelo Russell to score 28 points and hit 60 percent of his field-goal attempts.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Milwaukee F/C Bobby Portis at $6,300 on FanDuel and $7,200 on DraftKings. Portis had his best scoring performance of the season on Saturday in a win against Orlando. He finished with 24 points and 15 rebounds in 34 minutes on the floor last time out, and the Bucks play Orlando again on Monday.

Orlando has actually been one of the NBA’s better teams at keeping teams from scoring close to the basket, but Portis has taken more 3-point shots than anything else this season. Over their last three games, Orlando’s opponents have hit 37 percent of their 3-point attempts, and Portis made six of the seven he took in Saturday’s win.
