What to Know
The Denver Pioneers and the Utah Valley Wolverines are even-steven against one another since November of 2015 (2-2), but not for long. Denver is on the road again on Saturday and plays against the Wolverines at 5 p.m. ET Nov. 27 at UCCU Events Center. Utah Valley should still be riding high after a win, while the Pioneers will be looking to regain their footing.
It looks like Denver got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They were just a bucket shy of a victory on Wednesday and fell 66-65 to the Air Force Falcons. The loss was just more heartbreak for Denver, who fell 79-75 when the teams previously met in December of 2019. Denver’s defeat came about despite a quality game from Michael Henn, who had 16 points along with nine rebounds.
As for Utah Valley, they have more to be thankful for after their contest against the Nicholls State Colonels on Wednesday. The Wolverines took down Nicholls State 74-63.
Denver’s loss took them down to 3-4 while Utah Valley’s victory pulled them up to 5-1. A win for the Pioneers would reverse both their bad luck and Utah Valley’s good luck. We’ll see if Denver manages to pull off that tough task or if Utah Valley keeps their momentum going instead.
