Who’s Playing
Dayton @ Belmont
Current Records: Dayton 3-3; Belmont 5-2
What to Know
The Dayton Flyers will take on the Belmont Bruins at 4 p.m. ET Sunday at HP Field House. Dayton isn’t favored, but they just beat the odds in their last game, so don’t count them out.
The Flyers skirted by the Kansas Jayhawks 74-73 this past Friday thanks to a clutch half-court bomb from forward Mustapha Amzil as the clock expired. Five players on Dayton scored in the double digits: forward DaRon Holmes II (16), guard Elijah Weaver (14), forward Toumani Camara (14), guard Koby Brea (10), and guard Malachi Smith (10).
Meanwhile, Belmont beat the Iona Gaels 72-65 this past Friday. It was another big night for Belmont’s center Nick Muszynski, who had 19 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Dayton is expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Austin Peay Governors Nov. 20 easily too and instead slipped up with an 87-81. In other words, don’t count the Bruins out just yet.
