Who’s Playing

Tampa Bay @ Indianapolis

Current Records: Tampa Bay 7-3; Indianapolis 6-5

What to Know

The Indianapolis Colts will square off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. If the contest is anything like Tampa Bay’s 38-35 victory from their previous meeting in December of 2019, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

On Sunday, the Colts’ offense rose to the challenge against a Buffalo defense that boasted an average of only 15 points allowed. They put the hurt on the Buffalo Bills with a sharp 41-15 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Indianapolis had established a 38-7 advantage. RB Jonathan Taylor had a dynamite game for Indianapolis; he rushed for four TDs and 185 yards on 32 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD.

Indianapolis’ defense was a presence as well, as it collected three interceptions and one fumble. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.

As for Tampa Bay, they can’t say they have nothing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. They captured a comfortable 30-10 victory over the New York Giants on Monday. No one had a standout game offensively for the Buccaneers, but they got scores from WR Mike Evans, RB Ronald Jones, and WR Chris Godwin. QB Tom Brady ended up with a passer rating of 131.30.

Special teams collected 12 points for Tampa Bay. K Ryan Succop delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

The wins brought the Colts up to 6-5 and Tampa Bay to 7-3. A couple numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Indianapolis is worst in the league in passing touchdowns allowed, with 25 on the season. Tampa Bay’s offense has more to brag about, as they they enter the matchup with 29 passing touchdowns, which is the best in the NFL.
